Aaron Kaplan is the driving musical force behind ARK Music. As a composer, producer and session musician his work can be heard on some today’s most popular television and motion picture soundtracks and studio recordings.

Aaron Kaplan is a Los Angeles-based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose career spans studio sessions, world tours, and major film and television projects. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Aaron began his professional journey at New York’s Right Track Recording, where he worked as a general assistant during sessions for landmark albums by artists like David Bowie (Earthling) and James Taylor (Hourglass).

After moving to L.A., he quickly became an in-demand session player and engineer, collaborating with artists across genres including Britney Spears, Beck, Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Taylor Dayne, Dave Koz, Shuggie Otis, The Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty. As Chief Engineer and Studio Manager at Icon Studios, he helped craft records with a wide range of legendary performers.

As a touring musician, Aaron played keys and guitar on international tours, with live TV appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Ellen, and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. He also toured with Roger Joseph Manning Jr. of Jellyfish.

Aaron’s session and composition work has been featured in an impressive lineup of hit TV shows, including The Closer, NCIS: LA, The Blacklist, Glee, Rizzoli & Isles, Nip/Tuck, The Voice, The Masked Singer, The Simpsons, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Dancing With the Stars, Tiger King, Modern Marvels, The Price is Right, and more. His guitar work has appeared in major films like Iron Man, Monsters vs. Aliens, Open Season 2, Real Steel, Horrible Bosses 1 & 2, and Identity Thief.

As a music library creator, Aaron was a co-founder of Groove Brothers, and he launched Moonshine Music Co. in partnership with Extreme Music—a catalog specializing in Americana, blues, country, and bluegrass. He also created Rattle and Roll for KPM, a collection of vintage soul and roots-driven tracks.

Currently, Aaron performs regularly with The Spellcasters, a soulful trio fronted by Anna Montgomery, with whom he shares a long history of collaboration, writing, and performing. He also plays guitar in Lauren Wild’s Tribute to the Rod Stewart Great American Songbook, a project that brings together many of the original session players from those iconic albums. In addition, Aaron is producing an upcoming documentary on the legendary record producer Richard Perry.
