Aaron Kaplan is the driving musical force behind ARK Music. As a composer, producer and session musician his work can be heard on some today’s most popular television and motion picture soundtracks and studio recordings.
As a military brat, he attended high school in Munich Germany and went on to attend the famed Berklee College of Music where he studied music production and engineering. His professional journey began by paying his dues in the recording studios of the 90’s NY music scene, assisting on major albums like David Bowie’s Earthling, and James Taylor’s Hourglass. Moving on to Hollywood his talent and technical skills began to blossom as an engineer and session musician, working with artists like Britney Spears and Dave Koz. Eventually named Chief Engineer and Studio Manager at Icon Studios, where he had the pleasure of working with legendary artists like Beck, Rod Stewart, The Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, and Lyndsey Buckingham.
Feeling the call of the road, he embarked on two tours with Hanson as a touring Guitarist and Keyboardist covering America, Europe and Asia. His live performances could be seen on television with appearances on Late Night with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, Good Morning America, The Today show, Ellen Degeneress, and Craig Kilbourne. This was followed by numerous international touring gigs including with Roger Joseph Manning Jr. of Jellyfish fame.
After returning home to LA, he pursued his first loves of composing and session recording by collaborating with his friends, fellow composers and performers. This resulted in contributions to numerous hit television shows including Royal Pains, The Closer, Nip/Tuck, Glee, Rizzoli and Isles, Blacklist, and NCIS:LA as well as featured guitar work on motion pictures including Ironman, Monsters vs. Aliens, Open Season 2, Real Steel and Horrible Bosses 1 and 2.
His composing repertoire still continues to grow as a co-founder in the Groove Brothers production library. He also composes and performs under the Moonshine Music label, a comprehensive production library of Americana, Blues, Bluegrass and Country published through Extreme Music. His compositions can be heard on many television shows including Steve, The Real Housewives, Top Chef, Project Greenlight, Pawn Stars, Duck Dynasty, The Carbonero Effect and Project Runway. Today as ARK Music, Aaron builds on his success as an independent composer, producer and musician.
